Pau Gasol will decline player option but try to re-sign with Spurs

Pau Gasol will decline his player option for next season worth over $16 million with the intention to re-sign with the team on a long-term deal. Gasol is now 36 years old coming off a down season so a restructure of his contract would go a long way for the Spurs to bring in more talent. Gasol probably feels he has one more three or four year deal left in him before retirement. (Adrian Wojnarowski on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact:
Gasol was one of the biggest fantasy busts in the previous season and with that said he even lost his starting job to Dewayne Dedmon. Dedmon is a free agent so he may get the starting job back but he should be avoided until late in drafts at best.
