With Kevin Durant out, it is Russell Westbrook's time to shine

Russell Westbrook's rise to superstar status may come as Kevin Durant heals. (NewsOK)
Fantasy Impact:
Westbrook is coming off of an outstanding playoffs where he averaged 26 points, seven rebounds, and eight assists per game, one of three players in NBA history to accomplish this feat. There were tempered expectations for Westbrook as he missed half of the season, but Westbrook still scored 21.6 points per game with nearly seven assists and six rebounds per game. For those reasons, it is safe to say that Westbrook is a first round or early second round pick. He is the best point guard in the NBA and the gap between himself and Chris Paul may be widening. Paul gives more on defense and assist wise, but Westbrook's scoring ability is outstanding and his defensive value is not awful with nearly two steals per game. Look to see more value from Westbrook as Durant heals and see him as a top-15 player still when Durant returns.
