Tony Parker moved to bench role in Sunday's loss

by Christopher Berg | Mon, Jan 22nd 9:54am EST

Tony Parker was moved to a bench role and logged 20 minutes of playing time in Sunday's 94-86 loss to the Pacers. He did produce his best game in January scoring 12 points on 5-for-10 shooting, including 1-for-2 from beyond the arc. He added three assists, five rebounds and one steal in his limited playing time. This marked the first time in eight games he's finished in double-digit scoring.

Fantasy Impact:

Parker was moved to a bench role in favor of Dejounte Murray taking over the starting point guard slot. While it remains to be seen if this is Parker's new role on the team or if coach Popovich is playing with rotations to find a spark. Either way, it was an encouraging performance for Parker who attempted 10 shots in his limited 20 minutes of playing time. While he did enjoy his best game in January it'd be best not to overreact and see what his new role will be going forward.
