Dion Waiters (ankle) underwent successful surgery on Monday to repair instability in his left ankle. A preexisting navicular bone fracture was additionally found and repaired during the procedure. (Miami Heat on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

Along with missing the remainder of the 2017-18 season, Waiters could be in danger of missing the start of the 2018-19 campaign given his projected six to nine-month recovery. The Syracuse product averaged 14.3 points, 3.8 assists and 2.6 rebounds in 30.6 minutes before the injury. Tyler Johnson (ankle), Wayne Ellington and Justise Winslow have taken on larger roles in his place and will continue to do so.
