Taj Gibson leaves loss to Portland early with hip contusion

by Alex Murray | Pistons Correspondent | Fri, Mar 2nd 1:32pm EST

Taj Gibson scored nine points on 50 percent shooting during the Wolves' 108-99 loss to the Blazers on Thursday but was forced to leave the game early due to a hip contusion which is not considered serious. Gibson added four boards in 29 minutes of game action.

Fantasy Impact:

The hip bruise is nothing to worry about, though his scoring inconsistency is another matter. After scoring in double-digits in 10 of the final 11 games of January, Gibson has now scored just nine points in four of his last 11 games. The former Trojan has only grabbed 10+ boards once over that span as well. You can expect Gibson to see a slight increase in looks after the Butler injury, but he only goes from a fifth to a fourth option in that offence.
