Austin Rivers post his second consecutive 20-point game

by Sarbarz Sam Farahbakhsh | Sat, Mar 17th 1:31pm EDT

Austin Rivers filled up the stat sheet in Friday night's contest against the Thunder with 23 points, seven rebounds, three steals, two blocks, and two assists. Rivers has averaged 15.6 points a game during the course of the year but given the injury to Avery Bradley, Rivers will be playing more and will be tasked to guard the other team's best wing player which provides him the opportunity to get steals and/or blocks. His minutes will go up given the lack of depth the Clippers have in the backcourt that can contribute both on the offensive and defensive end.

Fantasy Impact:

Rivers played a team-high 39 minutes against the Thunder and has been averaging 33.5 minutes a game on the year. He should be started in all leagues due to his ability to score 15 points a game as well as his impact on the defensive end. The Clippers will rely on Rivers to guard the best wing player on the opposing teams for the rest of the year and this should help his fantasy value. Rivers should be picked up in all leagues but if he is still on the wire somehow, hurry to pick him up and insert him into your lineup.
