Luka Doncic scores 18 in Mavericks preseason finale

by Brian Ott | Mavericks Correspondent | Sat, Oct 13th 10:18am EDT

Luka Doncic led the Mavericks with 18 points (6-for-14 shooting, 4-for-10 from three, 2-for-3 from the line) in Friday night's preseason finale. He added four rebounds, four assists, and three steals.

Fantasy Impact:

Doncic looked more than ready for the regular season to start as his 18 points tied DeAndre Jordan for the team high and he also made an impact in many other standard categories. Above-all Doncic looked more than comfortable playing with and against NBA level competition as he was plus-15 on the night and flashed great chemistry with his teammates, including some highlight reel plays such as a fast break alley-oop to Dennis Smith Jr that Mavericks fans will surely be hoping for more of. Doncic appears the rare rookie set to thrive in his debut season as he already has a wealth of experience against pros both abroad and in FIBA, he will be the local point of this Dallas team and his skill set appears a perfect fit for Rick Carlisles flow offense.
