Dorian Finney-Smith scores 13 in Mavericks loss to Hornets

Dorian Finney-Smith started at small forward, played 26 minutes and scored 13 points (4-for-8 shooting, 2-for-4 from three, 3-for-4 from the line) as well as chipping in seven rebounds and an assists in Fridays preseason loss to Charlotte.

Fantasy Impact:

Finney-Smith was solid in this one, but the biggest take a way is that he did so while playing with the starters. If Harrison Barnes (hamstring) misses any regular season time Finney-Smith seems set to be his replacement in the starting five and showed on Friday that he can be a solid contributor in that role. If given extended run he figures to contribute (albeit modestly) in points, rebounds and three-pointers. However, once Harrison Barnes is back to full strength he should quickly relegate Finney-Smith back to a bench roll where his fantasy value will be minimal.
