Carmelo Anthony fails to reach double digit scoring in home opener

by Bryan Fleischmann | Thu, Oct 18th 12:29am EDT

Carmelo Anthony was held in single digits in the season opener for the Houston Rockets ending with just nine points against the Pelicans. After starting out the game with quick five points he went ice cold shooting just 30 percent from the field and 20 percent from behind the arc. He also chipped in four rebounds and one block.

Fantasy Impact:

Anthony did come off the bench as expected but still played 27 minutes which was fifth most on the team. The concern with Anthony is that he has been a volume shooter throughout his career that doesn't add much in the other stat categories and that didn't change tonight. Do not overreact to one game, but avoid playing Anthony in any format until we see something more.
