PJ Tucker scores 19 points in opener

by Bryan Fleischmann | Clippers Correspondent | Thu, Oct 18th 9:36am EDT

PJ Tucker had a nice start to his season from a scoring perspective with 19 points. He connected on four of his seven three-point attempts and connected on three of his four free throws. He did not add much in additional stats (only two rebounds) which was to be expected when he was asked to cover the much bigger New Orleans Pelicans' front court most of the game.

Fantasy Impact:

The 19 points were a nice start for Tucker and he is going to be a nice fantasy asset moving forward considering the amount of minutes he is going to have to play. With the departure of Trevor Ariza and the addition of Carmelo Anthony, Tucker is going see some additional minutes out of necessity for his defensive ability (played second most on the team with 34 against the Pelicans). Tucker is going to see a lot of minutes this year and a lot of wide open shots courtesy of James Harden and Chris Paul.
