Ben Simmons

Ben Simmons has quiet night Wednesday

by Adam Udinski | Nets Correspondent | Wed, Nov 14th 11:42pm EST

In his first game as one-third of Philadelphia's new "big three" alongside Joel Embiid and recently-acquired Jimmy Butler, Ben Simmons scored only nine points to go along with six assists and three rebounds as the Sixers fell to the Magic in Orlando Wednesday night.

Fantasy Impact:

In all but three of the games he's played in this year, SImmons has posted double-digit points, rebounds, or assists. Ironically enough, two of those games were against Orlando - Wednesday night's loss, and an October win at home in which Simmons only played eight minutes due to injury (he injured his back early in that contest). Most nights, Simmons will fill a variety of columns in the stat sheet. It's rare that he struggles across the board like he did Wednesday night. While he has yet to develop a scoring touch, the addition of Butler to Philadelphia's lineup will likely mean more assist opportunities for Simmons, which in turn could allow him more opportunities around the basket to score. Owners would love to see Butler's addition increase scoring chances for the reigning Rookie of the Year.
