Jalen Brunson scores 16 in another start for the Mavericks

Jalen Brunson scored 16 points and added five assists and three rebounds in a start against the Milwaukee Bucks on Monday.

Fantasy Impact:

With Dennis Smith Jr. still away from the team and heavily featured in various trade rumors it was Jalen Brunson that stepped into his spot in the starting lineup and played fairly well as his 16 points and five assists were both second on the team behind only his fellow star rookie Luka Doncic. With the possibility of a Smith trade looming and Brunson looking like an obviously better fit next to Luka, who is likely being groomed as the Mavs next cornerstone, the time to scoop up the former NCAA player of the year may be now. If Smith is traded and with fellow point guard JJ Barea already out for the year, Brunson is the obvious candidate to replace him as a starter and lines like this would become more of the norm than the exception, making Brunson a fairly valuable player for fantasy purposes.
