Bobby Portis signed by New York Knicks

by Kaiyo Funaki | Bucks Correspondent | Mon, Jul 1st 12:42am EDT

Bobby Portis has agreed to sign with the Knicks after career highs of 14.2 points and 8.1 rebounds in 50 games last season. The contract goes for two years with an AAV of $15.5M. (Adrian Wojnarowski on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

While this isn't a big name signing that the Knicks front office and fans were anticipating, Portis still provides valuable depth as a big man who can stretch the floor. In fact, the 6'11" PF saw his three-point percentage jump from 37.5% to 40.3% after his midseason trade from the Bulls to the Wizards. His numbers are likely to regress, but Portis can still mitigate the losses of DeAndre Jordan and Mario Hezonja for a rebuilding Knicks team.
