Kyle Lowry has withdrawn from team USA and will not compete in the 2019 FIBA World Cup. He is still recovering from surgery to repair a tendon in his left thumb. (Adrian Wojnarowski on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact:
Lowry had the procedure back in July on the same thumb that had nagged him in the latter half of the 2019 NBA season. The hope was that he would be ready to suit up for the World Cup but he had yet to be cleared for basketball activities. Lowry will take the rest of the summer to rehab and prepare for the 2020 season.
