The Los Angeles Lakers are targeting Dwight Howard after losing presumed starter DeMarcus Cousins to an ACL tear. Howard suffered a lumbar injury while with the Washington Wizards, limiting him to only nine games, and was subsequently traded to the Memphis Grizzlies this past offseason. Howard could be getting a second chance in LA, as the three-time Defensive Player of the Year has drawn interest from the Lakers. The Purple and Gold lack depth at the five, especially since JaVale McGee is the only healthy center listed on the roster, so this reunion makes sense on paper. Howard is currently a member of the Grizzlies but was never really expected to play a single minute for the club. Though Howard is a shell of his former self and has become a bit of a journeyman, he is still capable of posting double-doubles on a nightly basis.
