Mutual interest in a reunion between Lakers and Dwight Howard

Dwight Howard is currenty a member of the Grizzlies after being traded from the Wizards for C.J. Miles earlier this summer. The Lakers will request permission to speak with Howard and go from there. Although, talks won't heat up until he is waived by Memphis, which is expected to happen. (Shams Charania on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

This news comes as no surprise after DeMarcus Cousins was diagnosed with a torn ACL earlier this month. The Lakers are very thin at center after JaVale McGee so they're likely exploring all of their options. Howard's 2018-19 season with the Wizards was cut short after only appearing in nine games and undergoing spinal surgery. His last healthy season occurred in 2017-18 with Charlotte Hornets, where he averaged 16.6 points and 12.5 rebounds per game.
