Dwight Howard plans to sign with Lakers

Dwight Howard has been bought out by the Memphis Grizzlies and is reportedly signing a non-guaranteed contract with the Los Angeles Lakers after performing well enough in small workouts. He is expected to provide depth on a shallow center rotation with DeMarcus Cousins out for the foreseeable future. All that is left is for Howard to clear waivers. (Shams Charania on Twitter )

Fantasy Impact:

While Howard no longer operates at the level of a DPOY and All-Defensive center, he can still be a productive player in a limited capacity. In fact, it was only two years ago in which he played in 81 games and posted 16.6 PPG and 12.5 RPG for the Charlotte Hornets. For him to reach his full potential with the Lakers though, he must show that he can leave his character issues and health concerns in the past. Perhaps a second stint with the Lakers will prove to be a redemption story after a failed first attempt.
