Ray Spalding signs to a two-way contract with Hornets

The Hornets made a move to sign 6-foot-10 forward Ray Spalding. Spalding, No. 56 overall draft pick for the 76ers in 2018, has spent this season with the G Leagues' Rio Grande Valley Vipers. (Charlotte Observer)

Fantasy Impact:

In the 2018-2019 season Spalding averaged 3.9 points a game (25-47 PTS, 0-3 3PTS, 4-12 FT), 3.4 rebounds, 0.4 assists, 0.6 blocks, 0.6 steals, 1.6 fouls, and 0.6 turnovers. Spalding just might have found himself in the right spot at the right time. The Hornets are building towards the future, and as coach James Borrego puts it, the team is "going to be committed to playing the young guys now more than ever." This provides Spalding the chance to compete for a home in the NBA. He has shown a knack for grabbing rebounds, which would help tremendously as the Hornets are ranked 26th in the league, averaging on 43.1 rebounds a game. Seeing that the Hornets are taking the time to extract the top talent from their players, Spalding may be worth being on your radar for deep league play.
