Michael Porter, Jr. limited to eight minutes in return to lineup on Friday

by Lucas Spence | Nuggets Correspondent | Sat, Feb 22nd 4:16pm EST

Michael Porter, Jr. (right ankle sprain) played only eight minutes in his return to action during the Nuggets' 113-101 loss at Oklahoma City on Friday night, scoring four points (2-5 FG, 0-1 3pt) with two rebounds, one turnover, and no other statistics.

Fantasy Impact:

The combination of a possible minutes-restriction in Porter Jr.'s return from injury coupled with the recent return of several key rotation players (Paul Millsap, Jamal Murray, Mason Plumlee, Gary Harris) contributed to the disappointing playing time on Friday night. The rookie sensation's long-term fantasy outlook in keeper/dynasty leagues has been on the rise lately after averaging 12.3 PPG (52.2% FG, 80.8% FT), 1.6 three-pointers, 6.9 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 0.9 steals, and 0.7 blocks in only 22 minutes of play during 15 games in January. However, his value for the remainder of this season may be very limited due to the Nuggets' depth and championship aspirations. He's a hold in standard leagues for now, but this situation should be monitored closely moving forward.
