Jalen McDaniels showcases rebound ability in loss to the Nets

Jalen McDaniels totaled seven points (3-9 FG, 1-3 3PT, 0-1 FT), nine rebounds, and one assist in 23 minutes in the Hornets’ 115-86 loss to the Nets on Saturday.

Fantasy Impact:

McDaniels put up a nice stat line on Saturday against the Nets as he corralled nine rebounds, tying only Cody Zeller for most on the team for the night. Saturday’s game marked the fifth straight game in which he saw more than 15 minutes of playing time, possibly indicating that he will continue to obtain more and more opportunities to showcase his skill set in the future. McDaniels probably could have had an even stronger night had he not been in foul trouble; however, he did enough to take another successful step forward in his development. In seven games played this year, he is averaging 15 minutes played, 5.1 points, 3.3 rebounds, and .3 assists. He is far from being considered for a roster spot in any format at this point; however, he is certainly worth being on your radar in deep league play as he may blossom late in the back half of the season.
