Denzel Valentine gets spot start and drops 15

by Dave Kluge | Bulls Correspondent | Wed, Mar 11th 12:00pm EDT

Denzel Valentine logged 15 points (6-12 FG, 3-6 3PT), two assists, one rebound, and one steal over 23 minutes in Tuesday's win over the Cavaliers.

Fantasy Impact:

Not that anyone expected Valentine to replicate the injured Zach LaVine's production, but he hasn't come anywhere near that in his limited opportunity. Over his five starts he has averaged 13.0 points, 2.8 rebounds, 1.8 assists, 1.2 steals, 0.2 blocks, and 1.6 three-pointers drained on 25.8% from deep. While he's been a decent value in DFS, LaVine's return should be soon and Valentine will be relegated back to his 12-15 minutes per game off the bench. However, if LaVine is shut down in the Bulls' lost season, Valentine could continue to contribute as a solid DFS value.
