Jonathan Isaac (knee) recovering well from injury, hopeful to play soon

by Adam Koffler | Magic Correspondent | Fri, May 1st 9:53am EDT

In regards to the left knee sprain he suffered in January, Orlando F Jonathan Isaac told Magic fans on a Zoom call that, “I’m working every day with my rehab and if it lines up [to play again this season], if I’m 110 percent and everybody is comfortable with me playing, well then let’s do it.’’ (NBA.com)

Fantasy Impact:

Sounds like Isaac is eager to get back out there with his teammates if and when the NBA season resumes. If the playoffs were to begin today, the Magic would be the eighth seed, but we all know the playoffs are not starting today and there’s no telling if the playoff structure will be changed as a result of the coronavirus pandemic. Before the injury, Isaac was having a fantastic year for the Magic, averaging career-highs in all the following statistical categories, including 12 points, 6.9 rebounds, 1.4 assists, 1.6 steals, and 2.4 blocks in 30 minutes per game. He also doesn’t turn the ball over very much at just 1.5 turnovers per game, and shoots with great efficiency. He’s quickly becoming one of the top PFs in fantasy basketball and he’ll likely cost you a top-40 pick next season.
