Malik Beasley a ‘priority piece’ of the Timberwolves’ future

Timberwolves President of Basketball Operations Gersson Rosas would like G/F Malik Beasley and F Juancho Hernangomez to be in Minnesota for a long-time, “hopefully, for the rest of their careers.” (Dane Moore on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

Beasley and Hernangomez were acquired by Minnesota via a blockbuster trade in February that involved the Nuggets, Rockets, and Hawks. A former 2016 first-round pick out of Florida State, Beasley was seen as a potential 3-and-D guy in the NBA. In 3+ years with Denver, he never really got the chance to maximize his potential, averaging just eight points in 17 minutes per game. In just 14 games in Minnesota, Beasley showed he was capable of all-star type production, averaging 20.7 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 1.9 assists in 33 minutes per game. Both Beasley and Hernangomez are set to become free agents this summer, and Rosas would like to see both in Minnesota for the rest of their careers. Strong praise for both guys after just 14 games with the Timberwolves, but both should provide solid fantasy value moving forward as starters in a run-and-gun style offense.
