Kevin Durant: ‘My season is over’

by Dan Titus | Nets Correspondent | Fri, Jun 5th 9:54pm EDT

An interview with Marc J Spears, Kevin Durant said, “My season is over. I don’t plan on playing at all. We decided last summer when it first happened that I was just going to wait until the following season. I had no plans of playing at all this season.“ (Marc J Spears on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

ESPN senior writer Adrian Wojnarowski reported that Durant would not be returning for some time now and hearing this statement from Durant puts all speculation to rest. With news of the NBA resuming play on July 31, the Nets will have to make their playoff push without their star duo of Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving. Expect Spencer Dinwiddie and Caris LeVert to be solid DFS plays going forward as they will shoulder much of the load for Nets as they finish out the regular season and head to the playoffs. Fantasy owners can expect Durant to be on a minutes restriction early on next season but should still be targeted as a high draft pick in what looks to be an abridged 2020-2021 season beginning in December.
