Hawks newly-acquired C Clint Capela told reporters that he feels “way, way better” and that his heal has heeled. He can’t be 100 percent sure however if he is fully healed as he has yet to participate in any 5-on-5 work. (Chris Kirschner on Twitter)
Capela was traded from Houston to Atlanta in February after spending six seasons with the Rockets. He was rehabbing from the heel injury he suffered with the Rockets when he was traded, so he has yet to take the court for his new team. When he’s healthy, Capela is likely to play the 5 for the Hawks, which will slide John Collins down to his more natural position at the 4. The Hawks won’t be making the trip down to Walt Disney World to partake in the remainder of the 2019-20 NBA season, so Capela will have ample time to get 100 percent healed prior to the 2020-21 season.
