Khris Middleton, on a call with the media, said that he went about two to three months without touching a basketball and that he utilized his home gym to work out and stay in shape. (Matt Velazquez on Twitter)
On the surface, it may seem that Middleton might have made a mistake in not picking-up a basketball for months due to the risk of regression. However, when looking at his full body of work this season, it would be hard to make an argument that he doesn’t know his body and what he needs to do to compete at his highest level. Middleton is having a career year in which he is averaging 30.1 minutes of playing time, 21.1 points, 6.2 rebounds, 4.1 assists, and .9 steals. He will look to continue his excellent play later this month, as the Bucks compete for the title. With or without a basketball, he is a must-start in all formats.
