Patty Mills to donate salary to social justice causes and organizations

Patty Mills plans to donate his salary to social justice causes and organizations, saying, “I’m proud to say I’m taking every cent from these eight games that we’re playing, which for me will turn out to be $1,017.818 and 54 cents, and donating that directly back to Black Lives Matter Australia, Black Deaths in Custody and to a recent campaign that’s called the We Got You campaign – dedicated to ending racism in sport in Australia.” (espn.com)

Fantasy Impact:

Mills continued by saying, “so I’m playing in Orlando because I don’t want to leave any money on the table that could be going directly to Black communities.” Like many athletes at this time, Mills has found a reason more significant than the game to fuel his passion for playing come this late July. He has been a steady contributor this year, averaging 11.7 points (career-high), 1.6 rebounds, 1.8 assists, and .8 steals per game. The Spurs’ back-court hasn’t been that easy to pin down this year, in terms of who will be responsible for night-in and night-out production. However, it would be safe to say that Mills has carved out a consistent role in the rotation that could yield sneaky value for those playing in a deep-league format.
