Russell Westbrook tested positive for COVID-19 prior to team departure

Rockets PG Russell Westbrook tweeted on Monday that he in fact tested positive for COVID-19 prior to the team’s departure for Disney World last week. (Shams Charania on Twitter)

Now we know why Westbrook stayed back when the Rockets took off for Orlando last week. He said he’s “feeling well, quarantined, and looking forward to rejoining my teammates when I am cleared.” Westbrook’s teammate James Harden also didn’t travel to Disney World with the team, but no news yet as to why that was the case.
