Jaxson Hayes

Jaxson Hayes has been working on the details during the break

by Joel E. Ruffin Jr. | Lakers Correspondent | Mon, Jul 13th 3:38pm EDT

Jaxson Hayes spoke on what he focused on during the NBA’s break, “I’ve been working on my shot a lot and my handle. Little details when it comes to defense, being in the right spot, and doing the right things. I know it’s hard to simulate that without playing five-on-five.” (Jim Eichenhofer on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

Hayes has undoubtedly shown the potential to be a talented player in this league. This season he has played in 56 contests for the Pelicans and has averaged 17.0 minutes of playing time, 7.5 points, 4.0 rebounds, .9 assists, .4 steals, and .9 blocks per game. The concern with Hayes is that his role in the rotation is limited and inconsistent, which could be because of the depth of the team’s front-court, specifically at the four and five positions. The upside is that he is efficient while on the floor and can usually meet or exceed his estimated value with little time. Hayes seems like an excellent option for deep-league competition, with the potential to be a cheap value-play for other fantasy formats.
