Bol Bol, after missing the season, is making a good impression in Orlando. After being elusive for much of his young career, it appears that he is ready to answer those questions about his progression, skills, and injury by balling out with his team at Disney. Head coach Michael Malone had this to say, “To see [Bol] out there playing and doing things a lot of people can’t do is really remarkable…he is extremely talented and skilled. You cannot teach 7”2’, you cannot teach a 7”9’ wingspan, and the soft touch he has. He’s getting stronger, he’s getting healthier, and right now it’s good to see him compete against some of the other players that we have down here.” Fellow teammate Troy Daniels also had words to share, “[He’s] talented, talented, talented…I mean, the kid, he has the intangibles that a lot of people are not blessed with. He can really take that and use it when he’s working out. He works his tail off every day. The sky is the limit for that kid. He can literally shoot over an (Kendra Andrews of The Athletic)

Fantasy Impact:

With a lack of bodies, coach Malone has been experimenting with different lineups, placing players in spots they are not used to having. For Bol, that has translated into him playing the three position. Bol has yet to play in an NBA game this year but showed his potential while playing for the Windy City Bulls in the G-League. In the G-League, he only played in eight contests and has averaged 19.2 minutes of play per game, 12. 0 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 2.3 blocks per game, all while shooting 57.7 percent from the floor and 36.4 percent from beyond the arc. If that isn’t enough to make a case for his ability in his 2018-19 season with Oregon he played in nine contests and averaged 29.8 minutes of play, 21.0 points, 9.6 rebounds, 1.0 assists, .8 steals, and 2.7 blocks all while shooting 56.1 percent from the floor and 52.0 percent from beyond the arc. Even though he has yet to play in a professional game, this may be the perfect opportunity for Bol to make his debut. It isn’t crazy to think that he could be the primary back-up to Will Barton, especially with the absence of Michael Porter Jr. This year has been unreasonable, so at this point, anything can happen, with all the positive news surrounding Bol and his book of work, he should at least be on your radar. He has the potential to be an excellent play in deep-league play, as well as a cheap value-asset with tremendous upside in all other formats. At this time, however, a wait-and see-approach is advised.
