Russell Westbrook scored 19 points (6-10 FG, 6-6 FT, 1-2 3PT), six rebounds, eight assists and one steal across 26 minutes of action during Tuesday's 137-112 victory over the Celtics.
It was encouraging to see Westbrook's efficiency improve after two sub-par performances in which he shot 8-26 from the field in the previous two scrimmages combined. On the flip side, the Celtics were resting all of their starters and key players so it's tough to take a lot from this performance. Nonetheless, Westbrook should be ready to roll for the Rockets' first seeding game Friday against the Mavericks. With Eric Gordon going down with an ankle injury and possibly missing time, Westbrook and James Harden could each be asked to carry a bit more of the load offensively which would certainly be good for his fantasy value. Since January 3rd until the NBA season was suspended, Westbrook was averaging just under 31.0 points, 8.3 rebounds and 6.2 assists while shooting 51.9 percent from the field.
