Reggie Jackson starts for the Clips, scores 10 points

by Jon Mathisen | Nuggets Correspondent | Fri, Jul 31st 12:40am EDT

Reggie Jackson managed 10 points (3-10 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 3-4 FT) with six rebounds and four assists while matching Paul George for a team-high 34 minutes in the Clippers 103-101 Thursday night loss to the Lakers.

Fantasy Impact:

It was Jackson, not Patrick Beverley or Landry Shamet, that drew the start for the Clips. Both aforementioned players were late arriving to the bubble and are still working themselves into shape. But with Beverley playing well off the bench it's likely only a matter of time, perhaps as early as Saturday, that Jackson loses his starting spot. He can still provide meaningful minutes off the bench, though, and is a name to monitor going forward. Through nine regular season games in LA Jackson is averaging 9.4 points, 2.9 rebounds, 3.2 assists while shooting 52.5-percent from the floor and a sterling 90-percent from the charity stripe.
