Jonas Valanciunas puts up another double-double with four blocks in loss

by Adam Koffler | Pelicans Correspondent | Mon, Aug 3rd 9:47pm EDT

Jonas Valanciunas notched his second consecutive double-double, scoring 13 points (5-9 FG, 3-3 FT, 0-2 3PT) with 13 rebounds, one assist, one steal, four blocks, and one turnover in 29 minutes in Monday's 109-99 loss to the Pelicans.

Fantasy Impact:

Valanciunas got the best of Derrick Favors tonight, posting a double-double and blocking four shots on the defensive end. He could have posted an even more impressive all-around line tonight had he not fouled out with seven minutes remaining. As long as he stays out of foul trouble and the opposing team has a big man to keep him in the game from a matchup perspective, Valanciunas should put up some solid numbers the rest of the way. Memphis faces off against Rudy Gobert and the Utah Jazz on Wednesday in what could be a tough matchup for the Grizzlies starting center.
