Rudy Gay recorded 24 points (9-18 FG, 2-6 3PT, 4-6 FT), four rebounds, four assists, two blocks, and a steal over 26 relief minutes in Wednesday's 132-124 loss to the Nuggets.
Fantasy Impact:
Gay has scored exactly 24 points in back-to-back performances after only reaching the 20-point mark once this season, back on November 22nd. It's no surprise that veterans save some energy for the playoffs and Gay appears to have made that gear shift. At 33 years old, don't expect to see a change in how the Spurs utilize Gay. He'll continue playing a relief role for DeMar DeRozan but is showing his potential as a "playoff" scoring option.
