LeBron James (groin) returns with 31 points in loss to Pacers

by Dan Titus | Lakers Correspondent | Sun, Aug 9th 6:36am EDT

LeBron James returned to the starting lineup on Saturday and produced 31 points on 13-of-24 shooting from the field, along with eight rebounds, seven assists, one block, two triples, and three free-throws across 35 minutes in a 116-111 loss to the Indiana Pacers.

Fantasy Impact:

James didn't get much support tonight aside from Quinn Cook contributing 21 bench points. Surprisingly, no other player in the starting unit hit double-figures - most notably Anthony Davis. The loss tonight puts the Lakers at 2-4 in the bubble and they have lost three straight games in the process. Still, the Lakers clinched the top-seed in the West, and it wouldn't be a shock to see James and AD rest within the next two games to close out the regular season. James will undoubtedly have to elevate his game to carry the Lakers in the playoffs with Anthony Davis struggling. With seemingly nothing left to play for, DFS players will need to double-check the injury reports come Monday and next Thursday to make sure James is going to play.
