Trey Burke falls one assist shy of a double-double in Tuesday's loss

by Dan Titus | Wed, Aug 12th 2:26am EDT

Trey Burke got the start at point guard and provided 12 points (4-9 FG, 2-2 FT) to go along with nine assists, four rebounds, one steal, one block, two three's, and two turnovers across 31 minutes in a 134-131 loss to Portland.

Fantasy Impact:

Burke earned his first start of the season and made the most of it, almost notching a double-double in 31 minutes. He played well in the absence of Seth Curry, and with the Mavericks firmly entrenched as the 7-seed in the West, the Mavericks starters may get a rest day in their final game. If this happens, it'll leave the door open for Burke to get more minutes on Thursday versus the Suns. The game is a must-win for Phoenix, so this has the potential for a high-scoring and favorable game script. DFS players should keep an eye on Burke as a potential cheap guard play in GPP tournaments.
