Jonas Valanciunas was a beast in Saturday's play-in game, putting up 22 points (8-16 FG, 6-6 FT) along with a team-high 17 rebounds, six assists, and one turnover in 34 minutes of play in a tough 126-122 loss to the Trail Blazers.
Valanciunas and Jusuf Nurkic were both equally as dominant in the post in Saturday's play-in game. Still, Nurkic was able to best him to secure the critical victory - and the 8th seed in the Western Conference. Valanciunas had a resurgence this season and looks to have found a new home with a bright future in Memphis. Valanciunas is trending up for next season as one of the more reliable centers in the NBA, finishing the regular season with averages of 14.9 points, 11.3 rebounds, 1.9 assists, and 1.1 blocks across 70 games this year.
