Carmelo Anthony scores 20 points in losing effort on Saturday

by Dan Titus | Sun, Aug 23rd 4:39am EDT

Carmelo Anthony scored 20 points on 9-of-20 shooting from the field, pulled down six rebounds, and added two assists, four steals, one block, and two three's across 42 minutes in a Game 3 loss to the Lakers.

Fantasy Impact:

Anthony was active on both ends tonight, giving fans a nostalgic duel between him and LeBron James in the second and third quarters. The Lakers ultimately prevailed, taking a 2-1 series lead. Anthony's defensive stats were a massive boost to his value in DFS and ending up with solid campaigns in Fanduel (44.2 points) and DraftKings (41.0 points). Don't count on Melo providing this kind of defensive production regularly, but he'll continue getting extra minutes at PF with Zach Collins out (ankle) for the remainder of the season.
