Juancho Hernangomez given qualifying offer from Timberwolves

The Minnesota Timberwolves have extended a qualifying offer to PF Juancho Hernangomez, making him a restricted free agent. (Michael Scotto on Twitter)

The Timberwolves expressed desire earlier this year to keep Hernangomez around long term and this is certainly a step in that direction. As a restricted free agent, Hernangomez will now be able to sign an offer sheet with any team, though Minnesota will have the chance to match it. The 25-year-old forward was traded to the Timberwolves at the trade deadline and proved to be a solid player for them down the stretch, averaging nearly 13.0 points and 7.3 rebounds across 14 total games.
