Free-agent F Christian Wood has agreed to terms with the Houston Rockets on a three-year deal worth $40M, sources tell ESPN. The deal is expected to be executed via a sign-and-trade with Detroit. (Adrian Wojnarowski on Twitter)
Wood inks his first major pay as an NBA player as he'll be the new forward/center for the Houston Rockets. Wood will provide solid fantasy production for the Rockets, who were in obvious need of a frontcourt player who can rebound and protect the rim. The 25-year-old forward averaged 21.9 points, 9.4 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 0.8 steals, 0.8 blocks, and 1.7 triples during 12 starts for the Pistons last season. While he'll enter a different system, the lack of competition at the position will be a benefit to Wood and his fantasy value this season. Target him as an ascending talent who can be an instant double-double.
