Kyrie Irving fined $50,000, eligible to return to team activities Saturday

Nets PG Kyrie Irving has been fined $50,000 by the NBA for violating the health and safety protocols by attending an indoor party over the weekend. (Shams Charania on Twitter)

Irving will forfeit $1.6M for the mandatory 5-day quarantine he’s undergoing after the incident. According to reports, he’ll be eligible to return to team activities on Saturday given he continues to test negative for COVID-19. The Nets face the Magic on Saturday, so it’s a possibility he plays in that game. Irving will be returning to a newly formed supert-team consisting of himself, Kevin Durant, and James Harden. It’ll be interesting to see how the three superstars mesh together for the remainder of the season.
