Dallas Mavericks All-Star PG Luka Doncic spoke with the media on Monday and hinted towards accepting a supermax extension to remain with the Dallas Mavericks thru the 2026-27 season, per Tim MacMahon. (Tim MacMahon on Twitter)
Doncic is expected to sign the first rookie supermax extension worth over $200 million this offseason to extend his tenure with the Mavericks until the 2026-27 season. Doncic smiled and responded to reporters with "I think you know the answer,” when questioned about his decision to sign the extension. The Slovenian point guard averaged 27.7 points, 8.6 assists, and 8.0 rebounds per game this season and nearly led Dallas to a first-round upset over Kawhi Leonard and the Clippers, falling short in Game 7 where he scored 46 points and dished 14 assists. Doncic certainly showed why he is deserving of the extension with his play against the Clippers, emerging as one of the league's best young players at just 22 years old.
