Isaiah Thomas to sign with the Dallas Mavericks

Isaiah Thomas will sign a 10-day contract with the Dallas Mavericks on Wednesday. According to Shams Charania, Thomas will join the Mavs in Sacramento today, but his availability for tonight's game is unknown. (Shams Charania on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact:
After only four games with the Lakers, Thomas will play for a second team in 2021. The point guard is among a long list of veterans who have offered their services to teams hampered by COVID protocols. The Mavericks concurrently announced that their point guard Brandon Knight has entered health and safety protocols, so Thomas should be expected to fill this role which could allot him around the 22.5 minutes per game Knight had seen in his previous two matchups. However, Thomas should not be relied upon for fantasy purposes unless he earns a season long contract with a club.
