Tom Thibodeau has officially been let go by the Bulls

The Chicago Bulls sent out a statement on Thursday annoucing that after five seasons of serving as the head coach he will not be retained with two years remaining on his current deal. (Adam Jahns on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

This move was in the works for quite some time as Thibodeau clashed with both GM Gar Forman and team chairman Jerry Reinsdorf. Despite Thibodeau's impressive 255-139 record and assistance in five straight playoff appearances, the Bulls wanted to go in a different direction. Thibodeau's offensive playbook was old and his defensive strategies were top notch but wore his players down. In his first season (2010-11) as the Bulls coach, he led them to a 62-20 record and a trip to the Eastern Conference Finals. He will find a job real soon as he is still one of the best as long the higher ups can gel with him. The Bulls are now on the market for a new head coach, but it might not be that easy to replace a guy like Thibodeau.
