Derrick Rose to undergo procedure on right ankle Friday, out vs Heat

by Luke Monaldo | Grizzlies Correspondent | Fri, Feb 25th 2:55pm EST

Knicks guard Derrick Rose will have a minor procedure performed on his right ankle today according to a team statement. There is no established timeline for his return yet. (Knicks PR on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

Rose has already been out since December with an ankle injury but this "minor procedure" the 33-year old guard is undergoing today (Friday) is surprising as he was expected back immediately following the All Star Break. Any owners still stashing Rose (for his 96.8% free throw shooting, of course) will have to wait until more is known following the procedure before deciding if he is still worth the roster/IR spot with only 23 games remaining on New York's schedule. Injuries have limited Rose (12 ppg, 4 app, 3 reg) to playing in only 26 of 59 games this season, another disappointing piece of a disappointing season for a Knicks team (25-34) wallowing in 12-place in the East after securing the 4th seed last season.
