Al Horford (health and safety protocols) cleared to play Thursday

by Kyle Williams | Celtics Correspondent | Thu, May 19th 2:42pm EDT

Al Horford (health and safety protocols) has been cleared to play Thursday for Game 2 against the Miami Heat, according to Chris Haynes. (Chris Haynes)

Fantasy Impact:

After being placed in health and safety protocols just one hour before tip, Horford was forced to miss Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals. Coming into Wednesday, the veteran forward was listed as doubtful, and the expectation was he would be absent, but he has since cleared protocols and will start on Wednesday against the Heat. With Derrick White out of the lineup, both Marcus Smart and Robert Williams banged up, and the Celtics down 1-0 in the series, the return of Horford comes timely for the Celtics. With the veteran back in the lineup, Grant Williams should slide back to the bench, and both he and Payton Pritchard should see a slight decrease in their minutes from Monday's game.
