According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, the Lakers submitted a formal package deal that would facilitate a sign-and-trade of Kyrie Irving from the Nets to the Lakers with Russell Westbrook included. The Nets have declined the trade. (Adrian Wojnarowski)

Fantasy Impact:

With free agency on Thursday and Kyrie Irving's player option deadline for 2022 expiring on Thursday, there have been reports that the veteran guard will not be back with the team in 2022. With the superstar guard offering the Nets several teams he would facilitate a sign-and-trade too, one being the Lakers, LA reached out and offered a package centered around guard Russell Westbrook in exchange for Irving. The Nets have declined the deal and it's unclear what other assets were involved. If Irving declines his $36M player option, he would be eligible to sign with the Lakers for the $6M exception. The deadline is Wednesday to decide on an option.
