LeBron James has agreed to a two-year maximum contract extension worth $97.1 million dollars as reported by The Athletic’s Shams Charania. (Shams Charania on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

James played in just 56 games last season due tos an ankle injury but averaged 30.3 points, 8.2 rebounds, and 6.2 assists. His 30.3 point average would have finished just behind NBA scoring title winner Joel Embiid’s 30.6 had he played in just two more games to qualify. James is expected to pass Kareem Abdul-Jabaar for most career points in NBA history and will start the 2022-23 season just 1.325 points behind the legendary center. James is now under contract with the Lakers through the 2024-25 season and this extension will take him to the age of 40. It will also take him through his 22nd NBA season which will tie him with Vince Carter for most all-time.
