Taj Gibson undergoes ankle surgery; out four months

Bulls PF Taj Gibson underwent arthroscopic surgery on his left ankle previously on Tuesday, according to the team. The six-year pro averaged 10.3 PPG and 6.4 RPG in 62 games in 27.3 MPG, 17 starts in 2014. He sprained his ankle three times this season forcing him to miss 17 games. (Bulls.com)

Gibson has career averages of 9.2 PPG, 6.2 RPG, 24.7 MPG and has shot 48 percent from the field in 434 total games. Over the last two seasons, he's averaged a career-high 11.3 PPG in 28 MPG. Gibson is owed $17.45 million over the next two seasons as his contract runs through 2017. He is set to make $8.5 million in 2015-16. His health is important as he's a clutch player on both sides of the ball off the bench.
