Smith missed Charlotte's last game because of a toe injury that he's dealing with, and he's at risk of missing another game on Friday because of it. It's not thought to be a serious issue, but it could be enough for him to miss another game or two. If that's the case, Theo Maledon will be primed to get more work in the guard's absence.
